Intentional Dad Letters began from something deeply personal: I know what it feels like to be loved well by a dad.

Because of my dad’s selfless love, I learned about my Heavenly Father’s sacrificial love for me.

Because of my dad’s confidence in me, I learned to have the confidence to try new and difficult things.

Because of my dad’s heart for serving others, I learned to notice people who were hurting and to look for ways to help.

Because of my dad’s determination, I learned the importance of finishing what I started and doing it to the best of my ability.

I didn't realize it at the time, but my dad wasn't only creating memories with me. His love was helping shape the woman I would become.

Intentional Dad Letters grew from a desire to remind dads just how powerful their love can be in the life of a child. The time they give, the words they speak, the way they show up, and the love they pour into their children can become part of who those children are for the rest of their lives.

Now that I’m a mom of two boys, I carry my dad’s love and example with me as I help shape who they are becoming. I understand now that so many of the ordinary moments he gave me were anything but ordinary.

A dad may never fully know the impact of the moments he’s creating today—but his child may carry them for a lifetime.
